1Making movies is what I enjoy doing with my time, but I have hobbies 'away' from the business...it's very important to have that.
2When I was growing up, movies had a moral...a lesson at the end of the story. That quality isn't in a lot of of modern movies.
3On Reservoir Dogs (1992): Quentin was just one of those guys who came completely off the radar.
4Finding Neverland (2004): ...People need those type of stories ... they crave it.
5I love when crafts-people get caught-up in good work. It happens when the script is really good; the set designer, cinematographer, actors and the creative forces get swept away in it...
6With Quentin, it was always his movie because he's such a powerful writer and director and you were just there to help him along the way; as the producer The Cider House Rules (1999) was a completely different experience for me.
7When we were doing Pulp Fiction (1994) or Jackie Brown (1997), I just don't remember the level of scrutiny that exists today about the opening weekend performance. Back then you could build a release for a film that was kind of word-of-mouth. You could do a limited unveil and build from there. Now it seems you have a couple weekends and you're done...
8I've always found affection for stories about people and how they choose to live their lives, how they fit into their community.
9No matter how good home entertainment systems have become, I just can't see the theater business ever disappearing. There's just something about that communal experience where a group of people sit in a dark room and experience a story together.
10I'm not a hyphenate. It always surprises me when people are shocked that a producer can contribute something special to a film. (2008)

1In a 1995 episode of "The Charlie Rose Show" director Quentin Tarantino credits Gladstein with a key part in his breakthrough as a film-maker, quote: "...one of the executive producers of the movie - Richard Gladstein - who was the guy at the company, at Live Entertainment, that like said 'I'm gonna take a chance on this kid,' you know. I really owe my career to him.".
